Morning Honey Acres

Welcome to Morning Honey Acres!

My husband, Doug, daughter Hannah and I live in Maiden Rock, WI along the Great River Road. We have a small hobby farm where we raise goats, steers, and chickens. When we aren’t busy with the animals we are busy tapping maple trees and taking care of the honeybees.

Doug is the beekeeper and maple syrup producer. He sells the honey and maple syurp at the Eau Claire Farmers Market, local food stores and local food co-op. We also sell beeswax candles, flavored creamed honeys (strawberry, blueberry, cinnamon, pecan, regular and jalapeno), lip balms and hand cream.

I am the goatkeeper. I never thought about raising goats until three years ago at the county fair I saw a little girl walking a fainting goat doeling. At that moment I knew it was in my destiny to have some of them in my life.

My goats are my sanity. When the stresses start to build up, all I have to do is go out and be with my goats. (That must be why when I get a little cranky Doug says “why don’t you go out with your goats for a while?”) There are many summer nights I go out after dark and sit under the stars with them. It is my little piece of heaven.

Each of my goats come up and touch my nose to make sure it is really me and then they all take turns getting petted and being treated to raisins. My goats come from very good bloodlines and are each beautiful in their own right.
